Purdue Alumni Mentorship
Maymester Course in D.C.
Boilers Go to D.C. (BGDC) is an experiential learning program to study up close the historic interconnections of political communication, government, and more. During this immersive program, participants interact with Washington decision-makers visit historic sites that changed the course of our nation.
Award recipients will enroll in the Boilers Go to D.C. (BGDC) Maymester program where they will document and report on the student experience in the course each day and create a short form documentary about the BGDC course with guidance from a Lamb School faculty mentor.

BOILERS GO TO D.C. FINANCIAL NEEDS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is for students who have been accepted into any Boilers Go to D.C. course.
Deadline: March 1, 2026
Amount: Award amounts will vary by individual student need
Criteria for Eligibility: Students must have met all eligibility requirements for the Boilers Go to D.C. course and they been accepted into the course by the course instructors. Awards are based on the individual student’s financial need.

Summer Internship Course in D.C.
Spend summer 2026 in Washington, D.C., the epicenter of policy and innovation. Earn academic credit with an internship in government, non-profit, or private sector. Enjoy professional development training. Receive career readiness one-on-one mentoring with Purdue D.C. Alumni.
The D.C. Fellowship Program offers financial awards to students majoring in Communication or Political Science for summer internships in Washington, D.C. with the Boilers Go to D.C. Summer Scholars Internship Program.
These prestigious fellowship awards are offered by a variety of Schools and Departments across the University.
