Reneé Murray, Continuing Lecturer of the Dance Program, is a Chicago native, dance artist and educator. She received her MFA in Dance from California State University, Long Beach in 2011. She has presented work at the Going Solo Together Festival in Ireland, the Detroit Dance City Festival, Performática in Mexico and throughout Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Murray has also performed works by various artists at the Dora Stratou Theater in Athens, Greece, Sushi in San Diego, San Francisco Art Institute, Highways in Santa Monica, the Orange County Museum of Art, and New Jersey. In 2007, she performed Tino Sehgal's "Kiss" at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Murray is currently on faculty in the Dance Program at Purdue University and has taught in the Dance Department at CSULB. Murray co-founded Matter of Reaction Movement Project in 2006 and created work with her company until 2014. She graduated from Purdue University in 2006 majoring in Communication with a minor in Dance. While there, she danced and choreographed for the Purdue Repertory Dance Company. She has also performed with RTG Dance and T J & Company Dance Theater.
