Tae Hong Park is a composer, music technologist, and bassist. His work focuses on electro-acoustic and acoustic music composition, application of machine learning to music and sound, cyber-physical sound sensor networks, and soundscapes. One of his main soundscape research is via the citygram project which aims to soundmap the world in 3D: through data-Driven, community-Driven, and art-Driven efforts. Dr. Park has presented his work at national and international conferences, venues, and festivals including Bourges, ICMC, MATA, SCIMF, SEAMUS, and Carnegie Hall. Among the ensembles and performers that have played his work include the Ahn Trio, Brentano String Quartet, California E.A.R. Unit, Edward Carroll, Ensemble Surplus, Kaleidoskop, Zoe Martlew, and the Nash Ensemble of London. Professor Park is published a number of book chapters and is also author of Introduction to Digital Signal Processing: Computer Musically Speaking (World Scientific, 2010). He served as Chief Editor of Journal SEAMUS, currently serves as Editorial Consultant for Computer Music Journal (MIT Press), and has also served as President of the International Computer Music Association (ICMA) for three terms. He received his B.Eng from Korea University, M.A. from Dartmouth College, and Ph.D. from Princeton University. He has also been involved in a number of startup projects including MicroDAW and is currently work with the VitalAudio and GetNoisy startups at CSO and CTO. His work has been funded by various organizaitons including Google, IBM, NSF, The Korea Foundation, and UNESCO. He is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the recently launched Music Department at Purdue University.
