October - Genell Ebbini

Please join me in congratulating Genell Ebbini, assistant professor of interior design in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance, on being named a 2024-25 Fulbright U.S. Scholar.

Her project, “Optimizing Health and Well-being in Oman’s Sustainable Built Environment,” aims to enhance health and well-being in Oman by integrating evidence-based sustainable design principles into the country’s architectural and urban planning practices. She will be hosted by the University of Nizwa.

Previously, Genell served as a Fulbright Specialist in Amman, Jordan, where she spent six weeks providing seminars, workshops, and conducting surveys to promote equitable building standards.

“Throughout my career, I've dedicated myself to designing and constructing spaces that prioritize the well-being of occupants,” Genell shared in a recent interview with CLA Marketing. “As an accredited professional in the sustainability sector of the built environment and a WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP), I've continually strived to bridge the gap between international standards and local practices, adapting global best practices to meet the region's unique needs.”

Congratulations, Professor Ebbini!
