CLA Dean’s Faculty Research Fellows
The CLA Dean’s Faculty Research Fellows program is designed to elevate the research profile and creative endeavor in the College of Liberal Arts. It will recognize and invest in exceptional faculty researchers and is designed to catapult faculty scholarship, align with university-wide aspirations to be a top 5 public research university, enhance metrics related to membership in the Association for American Universities, and foster leading edge research in the social sciences and humanities and creative endeavor in the arts. Up to three faculty members may be selected as Dean’s Faculty Research Fellows annually.

Eligibility
All tenured/tenure-track faculty in the College of Liberal Arts may be considered for the Dean’s Faculty Research Fellows program. Fellows will be selected based on a proven record of research and proposals that demonstrate a commitment to and likelihood of growth in excellence in scholarship and impact in the discipline. The Fellows program is highly competitive. Each year, one to three faculty members may be selected.
Nomination
Interested and eligible faculty are encouraged to discuss the opportunity with their School/Department Head. Nominations will be accepted from Heads only. The nomination packet is to be submitted via the link provided at the bottom of this page - as a PDF file - and must include the following:
- Two-page summary of work to be completed and outputs to be achieved;
- List of external grants submitted over the past three years;
- List of external grants received over the past five years;
- List of awards or honors;
- Curriculum Vitae for the Nominee;
- Letter of support from the Department/School Head
- To be uploaded as a PDF separately from the rest of the materials above
Nominations can be made on a rolling basis to the CLA Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education. All applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the CLA Dean, and the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts will make the final selection of the fellows. Typically, a fellowship will start within two semesters after the award.
