September 23, 2019
We would like to draw your attention to several opportunities for professional development this semester. As part of our ongoing effort to support instructor professionalization, we have identified several workshops that may be of particular interest. If you currently teach or are interested in teaching with ICaP, we encourage you to attend the following workshops offered by ICaP, the Dept. of English, and the Graduate Student English Association this September and October:

Dee McCormick and Kristyn Childres will help you launch or polish your professional website in this workshop. Prepare your online presence for job seeking and those inevitable Google searches! In addition, the technology mentors can answer questions regarding digital teaching portfolios. Students, staff, and faculty encouraged to join.
Interviewing: October 9th, 12:00-1:30, HEAV 320, Dept. of English
Director of Graduate Studies, Dr. Powell, and ICaP director Dr. Dilger are hosting a workshop on academic interviewing as part of their annual job committee workshop series. Learn the dos and don’ts and what to expect on the job search.
CV + Resume Workshop: October 15th, 3:30-4:30, SC 246, GradSEA
A short panel discussion and Q&A about CVs and resumes followed by a workshop period to work on these materials. From 3:30-4pm we will have Bradley Dilger, Tony Bushner, and Jennifer Loyd offer advice and discuss models of CVs and resumes. From 4-4:30pm we will have our workshop portion of the event in which our leads will assist attendees with questions as they work on their own CVs and resumes. Please bring a draft of your CV and/or resume made accessible.
Rubrics Roundtable Part 2: October 16th, 12:00-1:00, HEAV 208, ICaP
Join Lauren Mallett and Libby Chernouski for our second workshop on using rubrics. Last time we discussed types of rubrics and their applications.
