Dr. Bryce Dietrich
Director, CSS Lab
Associate Professor, Department of Political Science
Research Scholar, Center for C-SPAN Scholarship and Engagement (CCSE)
Dr. Dietrich uses novel quantitative, automated, and machine learning methods to analyze non-traditional data sources such as audio (or speech) data and video data. These methods are used to understand the causes and consequences of elite and mass political behavior. His work has received considerable support from the National Institute of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF). It has also been covered by NPR, Washington Post, FiveThirtyEight, The Economist and The Wall Street Journal.

Jasper Neath
Graduate Student
Jasper is soon to be a Political Science Ph.D. student studying American Politics and Political Research Methodology. Prior to coming to Purdue, Jasper obtained a BA in Political Science and Earth Systems Science at Trinity University. While there he gained extensive experience in 3D modeling and has two published works using this approach to demarcate fault lines in Southern Utah. With his background in computer programming (C#, Python and R), he looks forward to exploring new questions in political science using similar techniques.
