Lori Sparger
Lori Sparger is the Associate Vice President for Policy Planning at Purdue and the Chief Operating Officer for the College of Liberal Arts, two positions which she originated.
As Associate Vice President for Policy Planning, she reports to the Senior Vice President for Policy Planning, advancing the goals of the University Office of Policy Planning including identifying and deploying resources, creating programming, initiating and sustaining relationships with key partners on campus and off. This includes assessing opportunities and identifying gaps to position Purdue to create impact, gain awareness, increase engagement, and secure resources. The Office of Policy Planning initiatives include Purdue@DC, Civics Literacy, Freedom of Inquiry, Critical Thinking, and emerging projects.
As Chief Operating Officer of the College, she is a member of Dean's executive leadership team, working to set strategic direction and future resource planning while implementing policies and initiatives to advance the mission of the College. She served as project director for Lilly Endowment planning grant on ethical leadership for technology, AI, and big data. Current key projects include the full renovation of University Hall, Purdue's oldest building, and continuing to build the nationally-recognized Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts program.
