Department Employment Policies

Many University policies and procedures leave their specific implementation guidelines to the discretion of department heads. In addition, there are other internal policies and procedures that are created within departments to cover situations not specifically addressed in University guidelines, or to augment or reinforce University regulations.

Examples of these include:

  • Breaks taken by clerical/service staff
  • Flex time arrangements for administrative/professional or clerical/service staff
  • Enrollment of staff in University classes.

In no instance can a department policy violate a University policy. Contact your department business manager or Kirke Willing for assistance in developing departmental policies.
