Ross Lynn Postdoctoral Fellowship

The College of Liberal Arts offers funding through the Ross-Lynn program for hiring postdoctoral fellows. The program is co-funded by the Vice President for Research and by local resources, with the aim of increasing the number of publications and grant applications that will contribute to Purdue’s AAU rankings.

Proposals for postdoctoral positions can only be submitted by the departments. Departmental proposals should justify the position, which will be aligned with both the college and departmental strategic research goals. The postdoctoral fellow must work with a specific lab or faculty member. It is necessary to provide appropriate justifications of fit and merit for hosting the postdoctoral researchers, along with a description of duties and expected outcomes (papers, grants, etc.) focusing on AAU-compatible metrics and a timeline of accomplishments. Proposals should also include a distinct one-page-long mentoring plan.

The CLA Dean’s office will select proposals for funding. The winning departments will then initiate a national search for candidates. The candidates selected by the departments will be submitted to the Dean for final approval. Deadlines for submitting proposals and specific details regarding the proposals and their submission will be announced with the release of the Ross Lynn funds by the Vice President for Research typically during the Spring Semester.
