Anthropology is unique among the social sciences in considering humankind from a holistic perspective that aims for an understanding of how culture, biology, history and language intersect. Students have the option to enroll in one of seven 12-unit Concentrations in several specialty areas within the Anthropology major, including Applied Anthropology, Archaeological Sciences, Bioarchaeology and Forensic Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, Ecological and Environmental Anthropology, and Anthropology of Health. Our honors program provides a capstone experience for students. The year-long program enables students to focus on a particular empirical issue in an anthropological sub discipline and to write an honors thesis based on that research.
