GRAIL is seeking one or more Graduate Assistants to join an active group of faculty, post-docs, graduate, and undergraduate students engaged in research projects that investigate the social, ethical, and governance implications of AI. Among its projects, GRAIL is developing the AI Governance and Regulatory Archive (AGORA), and the Political Deepfakes Incidents Database.
GRAIL-GAs will be mentored by co-Directors Dr. Kaylyn Jackson Schiff and Dr. Daniel Schiff as they participate in weekly lab meetings, conferences, and research projects. Purdue is home to a large interdisciplinary community of AI scholars in the College of Liberal Arts with many opportunities for joint research projects.
- GRAIL-GAs are guaranteed five years of funding through Purdue’s Political Science PhD program, which includes a stipend, tuition remission, and support for travel to conferences each year.
- GRAIL-GAs have access to research seed funding following the successful completion of qualifying exam.
- One year of the appointment will be a duty-free research fellowship while working on the dissertation.
