CAMILLA CHIKUNI

Political Science and History double-major Camilla Chikuni will be graduating from Purdue University in May. The Weston, Connecticut native describes her experiences at Purdue as “fun, extremely enlightening, educational, engaging, and informative.”

On the West Lafayette campus, Chikuni has spent time in the classroom discussing topics such as the origins of democracy, Supreme Court decision-making, and presidential elections. A member of Purdue’s College Democrats, she has also worked on a campus voter registration drive and supported Democratic candidates running for office.

Camilla Chikuni has also added a touch of Greek to her life. She is a member of the Delta Iota Chapter of Purdue’s Gamma Phi Beta sorority. The mission of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority is to “build confident women of character who celebrate sisterhood and make a difference in the world.”

Chikuni has played an important role in the life of Gamma Phi Beta as Diversity and Inclusion Chair. According to Chikuni, “I have been involved in organizing events to raise awareness of numerous groups that often go overlooked.” She has also “helped [Gamma Phi Beta] become more sensitive to issues concerning these groups.”

Chikuni notes, “Throughout my time as a POL student at Purdue, I’ve been blessed to be exposed to numerous experiences that have impacted me significantly.”

Her goal is to attend law school. She hopes to practice law in California.
