Student Diversity Initiatives

Liberal Arts Student Diversity Initiatives are in part organized by the CLA Director of Student Diversity Initiatives. The College of Liberal Arts and the director actively work to recruit and retain students from diverse backgrounds, with targeted emphasis to underrepresented students. Through these initiatives, the college works to enhance the multicultural and diversity elements that already exist in CLA. 

These initiatives include programming geared towards enhancing diversity and increasing retention for students of color. In addition, the director is the advisor to the student organization D.R.I.V.E.N. (Diversity and Retention, Initiatives through Volunteering, Education, and Networking), which began in the fall of 2004 and is open to all students. This is an organization that accentuates diversity, community service, and academic excellence through its multiple programs.
