Policies and Services Related to Students
The College of Liberal Arts maintains a centralized academic and career advising service located in Beering Hall, Room 1114. The academic and career advising staff are professional advisors. Each incoming student is assigned to an appropriate advisor who works one-on-one with the student to select a program of study, choose electives, register for classes, explore career possibilities, and set personal, educational, and career goals. Advisors also organize and participate in special college programs for students interested in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Additional offices providing student services are Career Advancement, Diversity Initiatives, Student Recruitment, and Study Abroad. Each of these services is briefly discussed in this section.
