Margo Katherine Wilke Scholars Program
The Wilke Scholars Program gives undergraduate students the opportunity to collaborate with College of Liberal Arts faculty and gain experience through professional research, scholarly projects, and/or faculty-led creative endeavors.
New Wilke projects are posted each semester. Students must apply for specific projects to be considered.
Wilke Scholars are selected by CLA faculty at the beginning of each semester. Applicants may be asked to upload academic transcripts, resumes, and/or cover letters. Applicants may be interviewed by CLA faculty during the application process.
Wilke Scholars are eligible to extend their experience over multiple semesters. Students must re-apply to their research projects each semester.
Minimum Requirements of a Wilke Scholar
- Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate Purdue student
- Must be in good academic standing (i.e., not on academic notice).
Preferred Requirements of a Wilke Scholar
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Have a declared Liberal Arts academic credential (i.e., a minor, certificate, or major)
Responsibilities of a Wilke Scholar
- Must be able to work 2-5 hours a week throughout at least one fall or spring semester.
- Attend required lab meetings and check-ins with research mentor.
- Enroll in SCLA 49105 each semester you are participating in faculty-led research.
- Submit a research agreement form, researcher evaluation form, and a final report on your research experience each semester.
