Purdue Industrial Design student receives first place in the International Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition

Nicholas Hollister, Industrial Design ‘22, received the First Place Student Scholarship for his “E-Bike Loft” in the 2022 International Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition. The winning design was chosen by a panel of aluminum extrusion industry judges.

The E-Bike Loft is an electric bicycle (e-bike) storage solution designed for use in small living spaces such as apartments and dorm rooms. The Loft saves space by providing elevated storage and charging of an e-bike and can lift up to 100 pounds, easily supporting the standard e-bike, which weighs approximately 50 pounds.
