Purdue dance lecturer’s film selected for 2022 Dance Camera Pandemania/Dance Camera Istanbul film festival

Kat Hickey HeadshotKathleen Hickey, MFA, Limited Term Lecturer in Dance at Purdue University’s Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance, was selected to show her dance film, The Torrent, at the 2022 Dance Camera Pandemania/Dance Camera Istanbul film festival. 

Choreographed, directed, and edited by Hickey in the Fall of 2020, The Torrent was selected from over 200 films with submissions coming from every continent except for Antarctica.   

Dance Camera Pandemania is a ‘sister’ event of the Dance Camera Istanbul Festival and is a unique film festival based in Istanbul, Turkey, that features choreography for the camera, experimental short films that emphasize movement design, and dance documentaries. Throughout the Spring of 2022, Dance Camera Pandemania will host multiple screenings in Istanbul and Bursa, Turkey as well as Atlanta, GA (USA) in addition to online screening.
