Christine Wuenschel completed a master of fine arts at the Herberger College of the Arts, Arizona State University, her bachelor of fine arts from Myers School of Art, University of Akron, and her pre-baccalaureate studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, The London Institute. She joined the Purdue faculty in 2009.

Wuenschel instructs courses in life drawing in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance. She is most recognized for her large drawings dealing with nudity, identity, and body image. Her large scale figurative drawings have won several exhibition awards and appeared in both national and international exhibitions including The Nude International 2009 - Lexington Art League Loudon House Gallery - Lexington, KY; National Figurative Drawing and Painting Juried Exhibition - The Lore Degenstein Gallery - Susquehanna University - Selinsgrove, PA - iNDA (International Drawing Annual) Exhibition-in-Print - Manifest Creative Research Gallery & Drawing Center - Cincinnati, OH; and Ink and Clay 33 - Kellogg University Art Gallery - California State Polytechnic University - Pomona, CA.

Wuenschel serves as the coordinator for the Graduate Programs in the Department of Art and Design. She is the Rueff School’s representative at the American Academy in Rome in the summer of 2023.
