BA 2012, Political Science Mayor Lebanon, Indiana Matt Gentry has served as the Mayor of Lebanon, Indiana since 2016. At the time of his swearing-in, he was the second youngest Mayor in Indiana; aged 26. Mayor Gentry was re-elected in 2019. After graduating from Purdue University in 2012, Mayor Gentry worked at the Indiana House of Representatives and then as partner in Mark It Red, a political consulting firm based in Lebanon. As mayor, Gentry has emphasized preparing for Lebanon’s bright future. He has worked to improve the quality of life within the city by revitalizing the Historic Downtown square as well as expanding and improving the City parks and trails system. He has also focused on rehabilitating the City’s physical infrastructure by making significant investments in Lebanon’s roads and sidewalks. Under his administration, Lebanon has attracted more than $750 Million in economic development projects and 2000 jobs. Mayor Gentry served as the President of the Indiana Conference of Mayors from 2019-2021, a Board Member of Accelerating Indiana Municipalities, and as a Governor's appointment to Water Infrastructure Taskforce. Matt resides in Lebanon with his wife Abby and son, Mason (2). Most of his free time is spent chasing his toddler around but he can be found on the golf course or pickleball court from time to time.
