Julie O’Neill has been with the United States Olympic Committee for over a decade where she currently works as the Team Leader for Sports Performance.  In O’Neill’s current position she leads the day-to-day operations for five Paralympic sport NGBs – Athletics, Cycling, Alpine & Nordic Skiing and Swimming as well as oversees Paralympic sport development and talent identification programs across all 26 Paralympic sports. O’Neill was a varsity member for the Boilermaker’s women’s swimming team during her undergraduate studies, which propelled her to her first job as a swim coach for a USA Swimming member club team. 

O’Neill was named the 2006 U.S. Olympic Committee Paralympic Coach of the Year after her team won the overall medal count at the 2006 IPC Swimming World Championships, the first time the U.S. had won a medal count at either a World Championships or a Paralympic Games. Under O’Neill’s leadership, the 2008 U.S. Paralympic Swimming Team finished first in the medal standings in the Beijing Paralympic Games with 44 total medals.  U.S. swimmers set 16 world records, 48 Pan American records, and 99 American records in Beijing.  

O’Neill will serve as the Chef de Mission for Team USA for the upcoming Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.
