Sarah Mesrobian is a Program Analyst at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of the Inspector General where she supports the Office of Audit and Evaluation overseeing the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development. The current performance audit she is working on is focusing on the emissions testing of light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles: Evaluating the Internal Controls for EPA’s Vehicle Emissions Testing Program.
Prior to her work at the Environmental Protection Agency, she worked as a government contractor at ERT Corporation. As a Program Analyst, she supported the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration’s National Marine Fisheries Service where she worked on strategic planning and program evaluation. In this role, she assisted in the creation of an agency-wide strategic planning effort, reported on program performance and future funding initiatives, and identified risk areas and mitigation strategies to senior leadership.
Sarah majored in political science and law and society at Purdue University and graduated in 2013. After graduating from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, she attended graduate school at George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government located in Fairfax, Virginia. While attending graduate school, she interned at two social policy non-profit organizations. She was a Research Intern at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research where she supported a briefing paper titled The Well-Being of Women in Utah: An Overview. Sarah was also a Research Intern at the National Alliance to End Homelessness where she wrote blogs on homelessness issues and provided research support. She received an internship through the Pathways Program at the National Science Foundation and supported the Division of Ocean Sciences in regulatory compliance for oceanographic seismic surveys and an interagency ocean policy committee. Sarah graduated with her M.A. in Public Policy in 2015 with an emphasis in Science and Technology.
