Art DuBose is a trusted business partner managing human capital from small, midsize, large private and public large, multinational organizations.
As Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Sunnova Energy International, Art provided executive-level direction to the company’s leadership team and led a successful team of HR professionals. He surpassed all objectives within the first year and continuously improved efficiency and effectiveness, including implementing a new people management process, realigning HR as a strategic business partner and saving the company more than $2 million in bottom line value and efficiency gains.
This followed his time at Gulf Interstate Engineering, where Art was Vice President of Human Resources & Office Services. In this role, he moved the company from fully insured to self-insured saving over $500k year over year, developed and executed HR programs, restructured HR while adding an increased value beyond cost to the company’s bottom line.
At Curtiss-Wright, Art served as the Senior Director of Human Resources, providing executive-level direction to Oil & Gas Corporate Human Resources and O&G Business Operations as well as collaborating on company-side HR objectives. Once the division was sold to private equity, he led the transition to the new entity. Prior to this, as Vice President of Human Resources at Veolia Environmental Services, Art led the North American operations that included developing the company’s first Executive Committee, Policy Committee and Employee Benefits Committee as well as developed and help identify new mission vision and values. At Air Liquide America, Art held a several key leadership positions, culminating in Vice President of Human Resources. Earlier in his career, he had HR positions of increasing responsibility at Reliant Energy, DHL, Amoco and Andersen Consulting.
Throughout his career, Art has been a sought-after speaker at universities on topics that include entrepreneurship, HR, and personal mission and vision creation. Served on a Diversity and Inclusion panel at CereaWeek Energy conference.
Art earned a Master of Science in Instructional Research and Development (with an emphasis on business development) and a Bachelor of Science in General Communication, both at Purdue University. He has completed several professional development programs at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, including Executive Compensation Training Employment & Labor Law, Conducting Investigations, FMLA & ADA Law and Human Resources. His certifications include Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Performance Modeling, Targeted Selection, Zinger Miller, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (Stephen R. Covey) and Diversity Awareness Session Facilitator. He is a member of Human Resource Development (HRD) and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

He is a graduate of Leadership Houston, which brings together leaders from different communities to foster collaboration on projects to improve the quality of life in Houston, and Project Blueprint, a nonprofit Board training program. Art also volunteers with the Hay Center (children aging out of foster care), assists with disaster recovery and distributes food and other items to needy families and the homeless. He also provides pro-bono business and HR consulting to small businesses and nonprofits.
