Describe the most meaningful experience you had as an intern.
The most meaningful experiences I had as an intern were always satisfying customers. There were times where my thoroughness and positive attitude elicited a response of “Thank you so much you have been so helpful”, “You really seem to love your job”, “You are such a good salesman”, etc. These would always make my entire day.
What surprised you most about your internship?
What surprised me most about my internship is how valuable a good attitude and work ethic are above all else. I don’t have a lot of confidence and or business experience like all of my other interns. But I have been made very aware of how highly my bosses think of me just because I make sure that I go above-and-beyond when I’m at work.
How did you apply your Liberal Arts-skills to your internship position?
Through my Liberal Arts training, I’ve learned how to speak effectively and represent products and ideas genuinely. Correct and efficient communication has been my number one goal at my position and that has shown in my subsequent sales ability.
How has your internship prepared you for your career?
From my internship with the Reds, I have gained immense confidence in my customer service ability. I have found that a positive and genuinely helpful attitude is not simply just a nice job trait, but is also a major component for maximizing customer satisfaction and trustworthiness, which augments sales. Soft skills are real, and can be imperative in business positions.
