Katie Glick

Katie Glick grew up on her family farm in Martinsville, Indiana where she inherited her passion for her family farm and history. A 2008 graduate of Purdue University, majoring in political science, Katie worked on Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels’ re-election campaign in 2008 as a Deputy Finance Director then as a Project Coordinator in the Mayor’s Office at the City of Indianapolis. In 2009, she returned to the Indiana Republican Party as the Finance Director for the Governor’s Aiming Higher PAC. In 2011, she continued to work on the PAC in addition to her role as Director of Operations for the Governor’s Aiming Higher, Inc. organization. She then joined the Indiana Soybean Alliance, Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Indiana Corn Growers Association as the Public Affairs and Industry Relations Director where she worked on industry affairs, policy, membership and corporate partner relations. Katie now works at the law firm Ice Miller LLP as the Agribusiness Strategy Manager in the Food and Agribusiness Group.

Katie is actively involved with her national fraternity, Alpha Chi Omega, as a chapter advisor and a former member of the Young Alumnae Panel. She also serves on the Alpha Beta Chapter 2018 Centennial Campaign Committee. She is a graduate and former board member of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series and is active with political campaigns. Katie is a member of the Women’s Giving Circle of Bartholomew County and serves on the Guiding Circle. She is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Purdue Alumni Association, Ducks Unlimited, American Soybean Association, National Corn Growers Association and Indiana Farm Bureau. Katie has been a World Vision child sponsor since her junior year of college in 2007.

Katie has formally served as the Young Farmer Chair for the Marion County Farm Bureau in Indianapolis and was a volunteer for Ag in the Classroom. She is a 10-year 4-H member and continues to support the Indiana 4-H Foundation. Katie is a former board member of the 1816 Board at the Indiana State Museum.

She loves to travel around the world and to small town America with her husband, daughter and friends. Katie enjoys good food and wine, spending time on the porch with a good book, writing, antiquing, shooting guns, bird hunting, promoting agriculture and spending time with her friends and family around a good campfire.

Katie is married to Brett Glick a farmer and business owner from Columbus, Indiana. He and his brother, Trevor, operate their family farm which consists of corn, soybeans, wheat and double crop soybeans. They also own and operate their private seed company, L&M Glick Seed, which sells corn, soybean, and wheat seed directly to customers and to the wholesale market. They run a cattle operation on the farm and operate a grain milling supply entity.

Katie writes for Farm Indiana, a local agriculture newspaper, and a local magazine called SHE. She has a blog, Fancy in the Country, where she shares tales from her country and farm life with a fancy flare as a farmer’s daughter and farmer’s wife at fancyinthecountry.blogspot.com.
