Mayor, City of Lebanon

Matt Gentry has served as the Mayor of Lebanon, Indiana since 2016. At the time of his swearing-in, he was the second-youngest Mayor in Indiana; aged 26. Matt was reelected in 2019 and 2023. After graduating from Purdue University in 2012, Matt worked at the Indiana House of Representatives and then as partner at Mark It Red, a political consulting firm, working on campaigns for Federal, State, and local candidates. As mayor, Matt has emphasized preparing for Lebanon’s bright future. He has worked to improve Lebanon’s quality of life by revitalizing the historic downtown and expanding and improving Lebanon’s parks and trails. Under his administration, Lebanon has attracted more than $15 Billion in economic development projects and 3000+ jobs.

Matt is a 3rd generation Boilermaker who resides in Lebanon with his wife Abby and two sons, Mason and Cooper. Most of his free time is spent with his wife and children, but he can occasionally be found at Purdue Football and Basketball games.
