David J. Riesbeck is an assistant teaching professor in the Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts Program. He has taught a wide range of courses in philosophy, literature, Greek, and Latin at a variety of institutions. Most recently, he taught philosophy and literature to high school seniors in Tempe, Arizona.

Riesbeck earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin as a member of the Joint Classics and Philosophy Graduate Program in Ancient Philosophy. His scholarly work has focused on ancient Greek ethics and political philosophy, particularly in the works of Aristotle. He also has broad interests in the later history of moral and political philosophy. He is the author of Aristotle on Political Community (Cambridge 2016) as well as articles and reviews on Aristotle, Plato, the Sophists, and later thinkers.
