A career educator in scenic design, Devin Pierce Scheef, MFA, joins the faculty of Purdue after serving most recently as the Assistant Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Central Oklahoma. There, he garnered commendations from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for his set and props designs for August: Osage County (2023) and Peter and the Starcatcher (2019). He also received a dual nomination for Broadway World Oklahoma’s Set Design of the Decade for Radium Girls (2020) and Eurydice (2017). Devin holds a master’s degree in technical theatre from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and has designed scenery and props for the University of Oklahoma, the University of Wisconsin, Nevada Conservatory Theatre, Maine State Music Theatre, and the American Heritage Center for Performing Arts. He has also performed a variety of operational and show-support roles for the theme park, cruise line, and circus industries.
