Jamin Asay is an Professor of Philosophy. Prior to joining the Purdue faculty, he was Chairperson in Philosophy at the University of Hong Kong. He previously taught at Lingnan University in Hong Kong, after receiving his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds an M.A. from Northern Illinois University and a B.A. from Whitman College.
Asay works in the areas of metaphysics, philosophy of language, and philosophy of science, with particular interest in the nature of truth and its connection to other areas of philosophy. He is currently researching the role of truth in political speech, psychological development, and the Chinese philosophical tradition.
