Samuel Leibovsky is a PhD student concentrating on the history of pregnancy and childbirth. He is specifically interested in exploring 19th and 20th century obstetrics, including the development of birthing centers and the historical role of hospitality in prenatal care. He is a graduate of Augustine College, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He received his BA from Baylor University, Waco, Texas in 2023, graduating summa cum laude from the University Scholars program, with concentrations in History and Psychology. Samuel is originally from the Monterey, California area and his personal interests include playing piano, reading classic novels, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He will be working under the direction of Dr. Wendy Kline.
