Early Modern Literature, Shakespeare, Renaissance & Elizabethan Theatre, Ottoman History and culture, Women and Gender.

 

Tülin Ece Tosun is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts and the Assistant Director for Cornerstone, Indianapolis.  She received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Purdue University in 2018. She specializes in Shakespeare and cross-cultural Mediterranean encounters in early modern travel narratives. Her work has appeared in Interactions (2012) and Academic Communication Textbook (2021). She is one of the authors of Purdue Language and Cultural Exchange Program’s Digital Guidebook for ENGL 110 published by Top Hot (2020). She is currently working on her book project, Haremization of Desdemona: A Comparative Study of Shakespeare’s Othello in the Ottoman Harem Context. She is the recipient of the 2023 Antonia Syson Cornerstone Teaching Award.
