Major General Erika Steuterman retired from the United States Air Force after a 34 year career, both Active and Reserve. Steuterman graduated from Purdue in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts in Language and an MBA from Krannert in 1977. While attending Purdue, Steuterman was a member of Mortar Board, the Purdue All-American Marching Band and Symphony Band (French horn), spent her junior year abroad at the University of Strasbourg, France, was a four-year Air Force ROTC participant and an Old Masters Host in 1975. She earned her commission at Purdue University in May 1977.
Now retired, General Steuterman is helping make the lives of persons with disabilities more enriched, safe, and meaningful. Steuterman has served on many boards to include: Past Chairmen of the Board of Trustees of the Executive MBA Council, past Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Wabash Center, member of the boards of directors of the Arc of Indiana, United Way of Greater Lafayette and Broadband Antenna Tracking Systems, Inc. She is especially proud to be the newest Purdue Mortar Board Advisor and a former Purdue Old Master.
