Joe Gabbert was appointed executive vice president of human resources at McAfee, Inc. in May 2007. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of worldwide human resources, including employee recruitment, compensation and benefits, training and development, change management, employee relations, community development, and merger and acquisition integration activities.

Prior to joining McAfee, Joe held many senior leadership positions at technology companies in the United States and Europe, including EMC, Cadence Design Systems, and LexisNexis. He has a long history of public service, working at the national, state, and local levels in a variety of leadership and volunteer roles.

Joe grew up in Marion, IN; his 89 year old father still lives there. He viewed coming to Purdue as an adventure; the first step to exploring life outside of Marion. He majored in engineering for three days, and then found his way to psychology, which he loved. He has interest in the arts and returning to the Purdue campus to connect with students. His visit includes connecting with reps from Computer Science for student recruiting and research partnerships.

Joe Gabbert lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and has a son who is a student athlete at the University of California, San Diego.
