Connections: Works on Paper from the Purdue Galleries Collection
June 21 through August 9, 2013
“Connections” will be presented in the newly renovated Fountain Gallery in the historic Perrin Building at 330 Main Street in Lafayette. This premiere exhibit will feature prints and drawings acquired for the permanent collection from Purdue Galleries-sponsored national and international exhibitions, such as Sixty Square Inches and Global Matrix, as well as from local artists and educators. Some of the local names include Arne Kvaalen, Robert Browning Reed, Purdue grad Monika Meler, Kathryn Reeves and Indiana artists Sarojini Jha Johnson (Muncie) and Rudy Pozzatti (Bloomington).
On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from noon to 7 p.m., the public is invited to participate in a variety of hands-on printmaking projects and add their contributions to an overhead community print “screen” to be assembled over the activity tables.
From 5 - 7 pm Friday, June 21 Purdue Galleries will host an opening reception celebrating the Connections exhibition and the newly minted gallery space. The reception will coincide with the downtown Lafayette Third Friday celebration for June.
