SPARK for German

SPARK for German is a nationwide initiative of the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) and the Goethe-Institut. SPARK provides universities with support for setting up opportunities to introduce school-aged children to German language and culture, while also giving undergraduate students enjoyable teaching experiences. In our community, Purdue’s Spark Lab has established after-school German Klubs at Klondike Middle School and West Lafayette Intermediate School, with about 30 students participating across the two schools each year.
The Purdue SPARK program was featured in the Spring 2023 newsletter for the Tippecanoe School Corporation (top of p.13). For Purdue students interested in joining the SPARK student teaching team, please contact the faculty sponsor, Dr. Jen William (), and the SPARK coordinator, Dr. Vanessa Felten ().
