Melissa (Missy) Lewis

Missy spends her days planning conferences and events, working with medical students and family medicine residents, serving as an advocate and spokesperson for public health, developing the organization’s strategic plan, grant writing, managing finances, writing and editing, and doing whatever else falls on her desk each day! The part of her job that she is most passionate about has been her work educating members and other constituents so that they can be effective advocates for tobacco control and other health issues. In 2009, Missy earned designation as a Certified Association Executive (CAE).

Missy serves on the Boards of Directors of the Indiana Public Health Association (President), Indiana Medical History Museum (Secretary), CLA Alumni (Vice President) and Purdue Association of Indianapolis. She holds a national appointment with Delta Zeta National Sorority, after having served as advisor to the Purdue chapter for 8 years. Missy is a member and volunteer of the Junior League of Indianapolis, serving on the Holiday Mart and Provisional Membership committees, and volunteers for several other organizations in Greater Indianapolis. Missy received the Purdue Alumni Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2009.
