Karen Korellis Reuther

BA, 1979, Industrial Design

Karen is currently Creative Director for Color, Graphics and Materials (CGM) in NIKE Global Footwear Design. She is responsible for the creative vision and implementation of CGM design strategies from product creation to merchandising. Karen leads and directs the corporate color selection process across all NIKE product engines, footwear, apparel and equipment. She is a member of the Global Footwear Design Senior Leadership team. Currently Karen creatively directs and manages the footwear color, graphics and materials design organization, a team of over 40 designers globally, from NIKE world headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon in addition to Amsterdam, Tokyo and San Paulo.

Prior to her current position, she was the Creative Director for Nike Women's Division, where she was responsible for design and color direction across all product categories and communications.  Prior to joining the Women's Division she was Director of Color and Trend for Nike's Equipment division. Before joining Nike Karen was a Partner/Designer with the Munich, Germany based design firm Reuther Design, active in all areas of product and color design.  Karen has directed market research programs to address the areas of design and color in product development and is a member and board of director of the International Color Marketing Group.  She consulted on the use of color in all areas of design. Clients included Braun, Rubbermaid, Miele, Blaupunkt and Hans Grohe.  In addition to her Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design, she holds a Masters of Science in Business Management.
