April Lam is originally from Fort Wayne, IN and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Communication in 2006. Since graduating from Purdue, April has worked for several large organizations in Indianapolis ranging from banking to healthcare. Since late 2011, April has worked in Strategic Sourcing at Anthem, Inc. (formerly “WellPoint, Inc.”), the nation’s second largest health insurer serving over 40 million members in the United States. As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, April has responsibility for a category with over $100 million in annual spend. Her core duties include negotiating strategic vendor contracts and working closely with her internal business partners to drive the vendor strategy for their business unit. In addition, April implemented and now oversees the Internship Program for the Strategic Sourcing Department, and she was recently honored as a “Rising Star” within the department. April received a MS in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2011 and a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification from the Institute for Supply Management in 2013.
