Morgan Gamble first joined the Veteran and Military Success Center in late 2021 as the Assistant Director. She then became the Director in early 2022. Since then, she has advocated and implemented change for support for military affiliated student as she directs the Center.
The center consists of 7 full-time employees and oversees a variety of support services for military affiliated students. The center’s portfolio includes the processing and adjudicating of many service member education benefits totaling a portfolio of over $13,000,000.00 in the 2024 year alone. Her position requires her to remain consistent with Purdue policies, State regulatory law and statute, Federal regulatory law and statute. All of which have rippling effects on individual process and administration of support to military affiliated students.
In addition to this, the Center conducts a host of events throughout the year for over2,500 military affiliated students on campus.
Some of her favorite accomplishments while in this position are: Serving a Gubernatorial Appointment as a Commissioner for the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs Advocating for the review of Joint Service Transcripts on campus impacting several students. Assisting in the draft of regulatory law for the Veterans Education Task Force when building the Collegiate Purple Star Initiative.
Morgan graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Social Science and in Political Science in the year of 2020. Her last semester was spent at the Indiana State Senate where she completed an internship assisting the Indiana General Assembly Session of 2020. Upon graduation, she was formally offered a job at the State Senate and remained in that position for a year and some months.
Graduating during the month of May 2020 was challenging because a global pandemic had ensued and the buzz words were, “Hiring Freeze” as well as “Remote Work”. She relied heavily on her professional network to navigate her first career.
