In 2015, Carlos and his wife, Carolina Gomez, founded Catalina Art, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing art therapy to children with cancer. Their efforts were honored in 2017 with the "Medalla Grau," one of Peru’s highest civilian awards, comparable to the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom.
