FAQ
Q. Is this open to all students taking Art and Design classes or only to those students who are actually Art and Design majors (or minors)?
A. Any project produced in any A&D undergraduate course within the last two years is eligible to be entered in the undergraduate exhibition.
Q. Are works in a series considered one piece? For example, if I were to submit works that are part of a series of four pieces, would that count as one submission?
A. Diptych or a triptych is considered a single work. If the work is not a diptych or a triptych it is best to submit the works in a series as individual pieces. On the form, you can always write the series title next to the piece title.
Q. Can I submit the same artwork to the Undergraduate Exhibition and the Westwood Exhibition?
A. Yes. Westwood entry happens the week before entry for the Undergraduate Exhibition, so if you have pieces that have been accepted to both the Undergraduate Exhibition and Westwood, Purdue Galleries will arrange transportation. To enter both the Undergraduate Exhibition and Westwood, you will need to fill out entry forms for each exhibition.
Q. Does the work have to be framed prior to jury or can it be framed after it has been accepted for inclusion in the show?
A. Though framing is encouraged, work does not need to be framed prior to entry. All unframed 2D entries should be protected with an attached cover sheet (newsprint, glassine, etc.). Unframed work will need to be framed and exhibition-ready by the "Drop off framed work" deadline.
