Kate Young is an award-winning podcaster and proud Boilermaker. She serves as the Host, Writer, and Executive Producer of “This Is Purdue,” Purdue’s official university podcast.
After graduating from Purdue University in 2012, she kicked off her broadcast journalism career as a digital producer and reporter in TV news. Since then, she’s worked in PR, social media and sports marketing, before transitioning to professional podcasting.
During her time leading “This Is Purdue,” the show has won several international podcast awards including a w3 Award for Best Education Series, a Signal Award for Best Education Series and a Webby Awards Honoree for Best Science/Education Episode. The podcast is also frequently ranked on Apple Podcasts Top Charts.
Kate lives in Fountain Square in Indianapolis with her husband, David, and enjoys traveling, cooking and going for long walks in downtown Indy while listening to podcasts.
