About Us
Anthropology at Purdue
Anthropology at Purdue combines global insight with hands-on learning to understand and shape the world we live in.
Through our Anthropologies of Tomorrow (AOT) initiative, we connect research, teaching, and public engagement. Our students and faculty work with communities and across disciplines to address major issues—health, climate, technology, food systems, conflict, and more.
What We Offer
- Engaged Research
Faculty and students conduct collaborative, real-world research locally and globally.
- Applied Learning
Field schools, study abroad, lab work, and community projects give students direct experience.
- Career Preparation
Our graduates are equipped with analytical, cross-cultural, and communication skills valued across many fields.
Our Values
We value ethical collaboration, open dialogue, and learning across perspectives. Anthropology helps us understand the full range of human experience—past and present—and apply that knowledge to today's challenges.
We welcome students from all backgrounds and foster a culture of curiosity, respect, and shared inquiry.
