Program on American Institutional Renewal wordmark.

The Program on American Institutional Renewal (PAIR) at Purdue University is a research center dedicated to studying and enhancing the effectiveness of America’s governing institutions. Inspired by the legacy of Purdue’s own institutional innovator, Senator Birch Bayh ('51, HDR '65), PAIR brings together scholars, students, and practitioners committed to improving the operations of legislatures, courts, executive agencies and other governmental bodies.

We believe American institutions must have capacity to meet our most pressing problems. To this end, PAIR works to advance reforms that incentivize politicians and public servants to address those problems while hewing closely to the ideals of a free society.
