Marketing Operations Intern at xFusion Digital Technology Co., Ltd.
How did you learn about this internship opportunity?
I learned about this internship opportunity through my professional network and explored the position based on my interest in technology, business operations, and digital transformation.
What is a piece of advice you would give someone in your major looking for an internship?
I would encourage students to look beyond internships that match their major exactly. Many valuable opportunities are at the intersection of different fields.
What key responsibilities or projects have you taken on during your internship?
I supported a variety of operational and digital marketing activities. My responsibilities included coordinating and tracking budgets, supporting resource allocation, organizing and managing digital marketing assets, and monitoring data related to marketing activities and campaigns.
How has your internship helped build your skills and clarify your career goals? How did being a Liberal Arts student at Purdue apply to your internship?
This internship helped me develop both technical and professional skills. I became more comfortable working with data, organizing information, tracking projects, and communicating with people from different teams. Being a Liberal Arts student at Purdue was particularly valuable because my education encourages me to look at technology from both technical and human perspectives. My studies in Law and Society have helped me think about how technology affects organizations, individuals, and society, while my cybersecurity background helps me understand the technical side of digital systems and information security.
In what ways has the College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University supported your internship journey? How has your participation in our Job-Ready program specifically aided your professional development?
The College of Liberal Arts has helped me develop skills that are valuable across different professional environments, especially communication, critical thinking, writing, and understanding different perspectives. These skills complemented my technical education and helped me approach my internship with a broader perspective. The Job-Ready program was especially helpful because it encouraged me to think intentionally about how my academic experiences could translate into professional skills. Through the program, I became more aware of how to communicate my experiences, identify transferable skills, and present myself professionally. It also encouraged me to reflect on what I learned from my internship rather than viewing the experience simply as a job. Being a CLA student has shown me that a career does not have to fit into one academic category. My experience combining technology with Law and Society has allowed me to explore the connections between technical systems, organizations, people, and society. That interdisciplinary perspective is something I hope to continue developing throughout my education and career.
Could you highlight a standout aspect of your experience in the Job-Ready program that you find particularly noteworthy?
One of the most valuable aspects of the Job-Ready program was the opportunity to reflect on and communicate the professional value of my experiences. Instead of simply listing my internship responsibilities, the program helped me think about the skills I developed, the challenges I encountered, and how the experience connects to my long-term goals. That reflection helped me better understand my own strengths and gave me a clearer way to communicate my experience to future employers.
