Daniel Winchester

Please join me in congratulating Dan Winchester, associate professor of sociology, for receiving the 2022 Early Career Award from the American Sociological Association’s Sociology of Religion Section.

The Early Career Award is awarded annually to an individual who has contributed to the sociological study of religion and has received their Ph.D. within the last ten years. Daniel received this award on the strength of his creativity and influential work in demonstrating the importance of religion to other subfields. In addition, his teaching record and current research on Evangelical missionaries contributed to the committee’s decision.
