Jennifer Garrett

Jennifer Garrett is the deputy secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, the state agency that regulates licensed occupations and construction. There she oversees external relations and policy, and she serves as the liaison to the administration and as chief of staff to the secretary. Prior to joining the administration, she worked in public affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing.

An Indiana native, she earned her BA in English and communication from the Purdue University College of Liberal Arts and her JD from the Mauer School of Law at Indiana University in Bloomington.

She has two adult children, one who recently graduated from UW-Madison and the other who is a sophomore at the University of Washington (UW & UW). She lives near Madison, Wisconsin, with her husband and two rescue dogs.
