Tom Scholl

Tom Scholl is an engineer, entrepreneur, and investor. He is the founder and CEO of MONTCLAREN, Inc., a health-tech company that provides personalized lifetime advocacy and support for people with mental, cognitive, or neurodiverse health challenges on behalf of their families or trust fiduciaries.

Tom is an emeritus trustee of Stevens Institute of Technology, a past member of the board of trustees at the University of Maryland College Park, and previously the chairman and currently a member of the A. James Clark School of Engineering board of visitors at UMD.

Tom was Senior Vice President of Engineering at Hughes Network Systems before founding his first company, Telogy Networks, as CEO. Telogy was acquired by Texas Instruments, and Tom went on to start and help many other innovative companies. He was also a venture capitalist for 14 years over five funds at NovakBiddle Venture Partners.

Tom is a graduate of Purdue University with a BA degree in Philosophy and Literature and a doctorate of letters honoris causa. Tom is the co-chair and a long-time member of the Dean's Advisory Board at the College of Liberal Arts at Purdue.

Tom has patents relating to software, the internet, and digital telephony, and he is the author of “Packet Switching” in McGraw Hill’s Electronic Communications Handbook. He’s a member of IEEE and ACM, and attended the Executive Management (non-degree) program at MIT Sloan School. Tom resides in Bethesda, Maryland.
