Matt Stachler

Matt Stachler serves as a Press Secretary and Digital Media Specialist for the Indiana House of Representatives in Indianapolis, where he manages communications for eight state representatives. In his role, Matt develops and executes strategic communications across traditional and digital platforms, drafting press releases, e-newsletters, media advisories, statements and talking points while managing media relations and coordinating interviews. He also develops digital content caucus-wide and contributes to the House blog and podcast, helping communicate legislative priorities, accomplishments and updates to Hoosiers across the state.
Before joining the Indiana House of Representatives, Matt gained experience across all levels of government and political communications. His previous experience includes internships with former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich at Gingrich 360, Congressman Jim Banks, the Indiana State Senate and the Indiana Republican Party. He has also worked on multiple state and national political campaigns.
Throughout his career, Matt has placed a strong emphasis on networking, mentorship and learning from those around him. His experiences at Purdue, in government and across the political landscape have reinforced the importance of building meaningful professional relationships and seeking out mentors who can provide guidance, perspective and new opportunities.
At Purdue, Matt was actively involved in the Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement Student Community, Pi Sigma Alpha, College Republicans and Purdue Student Government. These experiences strengthened his interest in public service, political communication and policy while providing opportunities to engage with leaders and fellow students both on and off campus. As an engaged Purdue alum, Matt remains committed to supporting the College of Liberal Arts and connecting with fellow Boilermakers. He is passionate about helping the next generation of Purdue students and graduates pursue careers in public service, government and communications, and is proud to represent the College of Liberal Arts as a member of the Dean's Advisory Board.
