Application Deadlines

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Students can begin coursework as soon as the next term after admission.

Admission Criteria

Admissions decisions are based on individual experience and the applicant’s fit with the program. Applicants should complete the online application with the Purdue Graduate School for consideration. The materials required for admission should be included in the online application. The GRE is not required.

  • Undergraduate Communication major at Purdue University
  • Junior status based on credit hours earned
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all coursework; 3.25 in Communication courses
  • Communication-related experience such as an internship, part-time job, volunteer work, active participation in student organizations, or meaningful projects and service-learning coursework
  • A letter of recommendation from a Lamb School faculty member, academic advisor, or full-time lecturer that is familiar with your abilities and can speak to your academic potential in graduate school
  • An updated resume
  • Official transcripts from all universities attended
  • An application fee of $60 ($75 for international students)
  • Academic Statement of Purpose
  • Personal History Statement
